If you cannot break out your passport and travel the world, the
next best thing is taking an imaginary journey exploring far away
culture and cuisine. Get ready to tingle your traveling taste buds.
We will start our culinary expedition in Mexico, then head west to
China and then travel thousands of miles to Italy and France. You
will make recipes from each country and learn about its culture.

ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE

Grades 3 - 6; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Please, make a scene. Celebrate the magic of theatre and create a
new world through acting, improvisation and make believe. You
will be guided through the basics of stage performance and
delivery while gaining confidence and having a great time. This
class will work towards a performance for family and friends to be
presented on the last class meeting. $86
IN THE LAB
Grades 4 - 6 ; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
This fast paced class will demonstrate that the pursuit of science is
an interdisciplinary endeavor. Through hands-on experiments,
you will explore a number of fields like medicine, biology,
chemistry and physics. If you are interested in gaining information
to focus your academic path, or just want to learn more about
several scientific disciplines, this class is for you. $86
ANIMAL SCIENCE
Grades 3 - 6; 9:00 am to 11:00 am
In this hands-on class, you will learn about meat, animals, food
production, and food science. You will have the opportunity to
gain experience at the Texas Tech New Deal Field Laboratory and
learn what it is like to work with horses, cattle, sheep, and pigs.
Transportation to the New Deal Field Laboratory is provided. $86
SEND IN THE CLOWNS
Grades 4 - 6; 9:00 am to 11:00 am

Have you ever wanted to put on a red nose and exercise your
funny bone? In this class, you will discover your inner clown and
comic timing through character improvisation, absurd activities,
goofy gags, and ridiculous routines. Saturdays have never been so
silly! $86
MATHEMANIA
Grades 2 - 3; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Come and explore the wonderful world of mathematics through
magic, culture, games and a variety of hands-on activities. Learn to
organize arithmetical work, perform high-speed paper and mental
calculations, build an abacus, estimate the height of buildings and
much more! $86
ADVENTURES IN ART
Grades K - 2; 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Grades K - 2; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
Come join the fun and adventure of the world of art! Experiment
in painting, color, shapes, and drawing. Design and creativity are
emphasized in this fast-paced art class. $86
LEGO ROBOTICS
Grades 2 – 3; 9:00 am – 11:00 am
Grades 4 – 6; 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
In this exciting hands-on class you will learn to design a LEGO
robot to perform specific tasks. After building the base robot, you
will learn to program it to find its way along a specific path or to a
given location, move around items, or avoid obstacles. You may
then add sound, light, or sensors which collect data that allows
your robot to better perform these tasks. At the end, all robots will
participate in a competition that will determine the best design.

SPANISH IN ACTION
Grades K - 3; 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Calling all niños: take this fun-filled class to learn Spanish, one of
the top five languages in the world! By taking this class, you will
join 425 million native Spanish speakers and will learn words to
help you communicate, travel, and get a good job. You’ll also
explore the culture, games, and music of Spanish-speaking
countries through many fun-filled activities! $86

Creativity and computer graphics collide! In this class, you will
walk away with a personal portfolio full of computer based
graphic design pieces. You will have a new grasp ofÊ the industry’s
most powerful graphic design software. Have you ever wanted to
turn your dog green or transform everyday images into something
super? Learn how the pros do it! Discuss design elements and
learn digital photography tricks of the trade. Basic computer
knowledge is strongly recommended. $86
DREAM IT, BUILD IT
Grades 2 - 3; 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Can you imagine building a beautiful building? In this class you
will learn in a “constructive” manner and see how art merges with
architecture. You will draw, paint, and create floor plans.
Activities may include reconstructing Stonehenge, bridge building
and building geodesic domes. $86
DINO-ROCK
Grades K - 2; 9:00 am to 11:00 am
Grades K - 2; 11:00 am to 1:00 pm
The study of paleontology leads us to questions and answers of
how our world came to be. You will perform experiments and
activities that will help you understand dinosaur excavation, teach
you how to determine dinosaur behavior based on footprints, and
learn about fossils, while making some of your own. $86
ORDER IN THE COURT
Grades 4-6; 11:00 am-1:00 pm
Why do we need lawyers and judges? Discover what the law is,
why we have it, and what lawyers and judges really do. This class
will help you to understand the different aspects of law from the
history of law to the role of those who interpret and enforce the
laws. The class will participate in a mock trial. Learn what it takes
to become a lawyer. $86
BUILDING IN MINIATURE

Experience the pleasure of building your own miniature tree house
in one-inch-to-one-foot scale! You will learn many of the
techniques that builders and designers use and leave with a
completed project.

In this action-packed, hands-on class, you will observe,
investigate, and experiment. Through your experiments, you will
learn about different kinds of science. We will make everything
from volcanoes, to rockets, to invisible ink. Join us and discover
the wonders of science. $86
TOXICOLOGY
Grades 4 - 6; 9:00 to 11:00 am
Got poison? Tired of pollution? Do you want to know what the
world’s most venomous animals are? If you are interested in the
environment, animals and human health, join us in using fun,
hands-on, science experiments to learn about poisons (pharmaceuticals,
pollutions, animal toxins and chemicals) and how they affect
you and the environment. $86

IDEAL has a drop box installed inside
the west entrance of the Administration
Building. You may drop off your
registration in the box or come to
Administration 303. Our offices are on
the east wing of the third floor.
FEES, EARLY BIRD FEE
AND REFUND POLICY
Classes are $86 unless otherwise noted.
Earlybird class fees are $6 less than the
fee listed. Registering on or before
October 2, 2009 qualifies you for the
Earlybird discount. If you request a
refund, tuition minus a $10.00 administrative
charge will be refunded if we
receive a written cancellation no less
than five working days prior to the
beginning of class. IDEAL reserves the
right to cancel certain classes due to low
enrollments. Registration deadline is
October 12, 2009 for all classes.
